Sockeye Brewing, among Boise's longest-standing breweries, has announced it will move from its location on Cole Road in a press release issued March 16.

"We have negotiated with the landlord and determined it will be best for Sockeye and the Idaho Asian Plaza for us to re-locate our brewpub to a new location," wrote Tyson Cardon, marketing director for Sockeye. "This will allow the property owner to continue to redevelop the entire shopping center to align with their vision for the property."

The Cole Road location has been Sockeye's home since 2002, but in 2017, it was purchased by Idaho Asian Plaza, LLC, which has begun preparations for renovating the space. That plan, Cardon wrote, is "inconsistent" with Sockeye's operations there. Sockeye will officially cease doing business there on Friday, March 29, though a closing celebration on Saturday, March 30, will include live music and food trucks.

"We really want our staff to enjoy this day along with all of the neighborhood and community that have helped us grow to what we are today," wrote Sockeye Head Brewer Josh King.

Now, Sockeye is soliciting input for its future location through its social media platforms.
