Steelhead on the River

According to Idaho Fish and Game, about 3,000 steelhead have been crossing the Lower Granite Dam every day since mid-September. Anglers hoping to hook a few steelhead must fish with a valid fishing license as well as a steelhead permit, and should be aware of the limits. This fall, limits are three per day, nine in possession and 20 for the season. Check the IF&G steelhead fishing report for details about where the salmon are biting, but current reports indicate that the lower Snake, Clearwater and Salmon rivers are good bets at present.
