Steve Meyers Headlines Boise Bicycle Project Benefit

Saturday, Nov. 26

Boise loves bikes, and that fact is demonstrated best by Boise Bicycle Project, Boise's nonprofit bicycle cooperative.

Instead of just fixing and selling bikes, BBP believes in educating folks on bike maintenance, as well as giving bikes to underprivileged kids and refugees.

Andrew Mentzer, Idahostel owner and BW contributor, was so inspired by BBP that he organized a benefit concert for the nonprofit, featuring local singer-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist Steve Meyers.

"The good folks down at BBP have been promoting green-commuting, giving bikes to kids who wouldn't normally have that luxury and running important community programs. They are a very important part of our community," said Mentzer.

If you're a bike-lover, or wannabe one, then mount up and cruise down to the historic Rose Room for a concert with Steve Meyers on Saturday, Nov. 26. Meyers, who describes his sounds as "reggae-inflected rock and psychedelic folk," is known for guitar tapping layering loops during his live sets.

All proceeds will benefit BBP, and there will be a no-host bar.
