Sub*Vert-PaylFace-Minus One-Sindolor

The Society presents a killer combo of metal bands this Friday including Sub*Vert, PaylFace, Minus One and Sindolor. The owner of the Society, Tim Lazon, is the man about town responsible for events like the "Tribute To Dimebag" concert on April 29, which raised $600 for the Dimebag Foundation, as well as reserving this Friday at the Big Easy for the local show. The Friday the 13th gig will offer fans a diverse selection of music from some of the top metal bands in the Northwest.

Sub*Vert has been playing since the spring of 2000 and instantly began turning heads. Mixing dynamic ups and crushing downs, Sub*Vert created their own method of combining brutality with beauty. The band was also accepted into the 2005 Milwaukee Metal Fest.

If you remember the latest Battle of the Bands, Boise's own PaylFace was the reigning champ claiming the 2005 title of Best Band in the Northwest. Everyone from Jagermeister, Krank Amps, Basson Sound, GHS Strings, Cool Music, Inc., Dirtbag Clothing and the fans that gave them their Best Band title have faith in these guys. They're known as a hard-hitting heavy metal band that takes their music seriously, playing and touring throughout the U.S. PaylFace landed a worldwide distribution contract with Century Media in November 2004 which will be on the 2005 Spring Sampler CD out in May 2005.

Next up is Minus One, a Salt Lake City band combining elements and influences from past members of K1-2B and Shift. Their mix of metal and hardcore with fluidity and melody is not a common theme in today's metal/hardcore scene. Finally to round out the night is also from SLC, Sindolor, a hardcore metal bunch who never fail to amaze a crowd, growing in both skill and professionalism since their inception. In July of 2003, Sindolor participated in the New York International Independent Music Festival. After being judged in a number of areas including stage performance and originality, Sindolor was awarded "Best in Genre: Nu Metal" and gained mention in a few publications.

Friday, 7:30, $5, Big Easy.
