Sweepers on the Go

Lately, a true sign of the impending spring is in the air—in the form of heavy dust clouds stirred up from the piles of sand left on valley roadways.

But fear not. The Ada County Highway District is on the job after dumping more than 13,000 tons of sand across the county this winter. It's the largest amount of sand the agency has used in 13 years, and four times what was put down last year.

Now, ACHD is mounting a massive sweeping project, with street cleaners being dispatched across the valley. Be on the lookout for the slow-moving vehicles on the roads.
