Many of the winning authors of the 17th-annual Boise Weekly Fiction 101 contest came to read their work at the reading party at Rediscovered Books on Jan. 3.

Boise Weekly loves a party, and the Fiction 101 reading party is one we look forward to all year long. More than 80 people showed up on Thursday evening at Rediscovered Books to chow down on snacks from The Basque Market, meet winning authors and hear them read their work, and to them, we can't say "thank you" enough!

This year, we received more than 180 entries in the contest. Our panel of judges had a tough go picking the winners, but pick they did, and those entries are printed in this week's edition of Boise Weekly with illustrations by Jeffrey C. Lowe, and are also available online.
