The Andy Griffith Show 50th Anniversary

Yes, it has been 50 years. But revisiting some of these classics reminds us that Andy, Barney, Opie, Gomer, Goober and Aunt Bee are as welcome as Christmas. It was in 1960 in an episode of The Danny Thomas Show that Danny was pulled over by a friendly policeman in the small town of Mayberry, N.C. And a television classic was born. This heartwarming collection includes that original episode, plus one of the best half-hours ever written for the small screen: "Opie the Birdman." It also includes the only Christmas episode in the eight years that the series ran on CBS.
