The Last Revel

The Olympic, Friday, May 12

Lee Henke, Ryan Acker and Vincenzio Donatelle are The Last Revel—a quintessential Americana/folk band that, in keeping with its name, seems to craft each of its songs with urgent care. The group claims to create "cutting-edge front porch Americana soundscapes," though a peek at its music videos reveals "lakefront" might be more applicable than "front porch." Filmed on-location in spots like the shores of Lake McDonald in Glacier National Park, the videos meld nature shots with aching vocals and bluegrass instrumental combinations including everything from acoustic guitar to banjo, harmonica and fiddle. With three albums under its belt, most recently Hazard & Fate (self-released, 2017), the Minnesota-based group will make an appearance in Boise in advance of a performance at the 45th Telluride Bluegrass Festival in June. Head over for a night of foot-stomping and soul-searching.
