The Mutineers EP Release

The Funky Taco, Friday, Sept. 14

The rock/Americana band The Mutineers is no stranger to Boise, having graduated from the local sound university that is Treefort Music Fest, and perhaps that's why it has chosen to kick off its latest tour and debut its new EP in the City of Trees, despite its Oregon roots. The new disc, Threshold (Mutiny Studios, 2018), is a five-track odyssey that showcases the husband-wife team's folksy side, largely (but not entirely) departing from the fast-paced drums and high-energy vocals of past songs like "Drug for That" and "Break Your Fall." It will drop during the duo's all-ages concert at The Funky Taco on Friday, Sept. 14, signaling the kickoff of another national tour. The venue should be just about perfect for a band that describes its sound as "a little sweet, a little spicy, with crunchy bits in the middle."
