The Part of the Interview We Were Too Chicken To Print

BW: Now, there's one more thing I wanted to ask you, which we've been wondering about around the office. On the "Fidelity and Monogamy" page in The Joy of Gay Sex, I noticed that there is a drawing of a man jerking off onto his own face. We're having trouble figuring out what the relation between that chapter and that photo is, and I was hoping you could explain that for me.

CS: This is in "Fidelity and Monogamy?"

OK, hold on [goes away for four minutes to find book].

The picture for fidelity and monogamy... there's a guy jerking off and coming into his own mouth [Laughs].

I guess that's one interpretation of monogamy.

I don't have a clue as to why it's there. You know, the way books work, you write a text, and then they get pictures, and the designer puts them in, and I cannot for the life of me understand ... I guess the answer to your question is, I don't have a clue.
