The School Shuffle

This has been a difficult week. Why is it that Burning Man has to coincide with the start of the school year? With no planned after-school care, the juggling of BW's early release for Best of Boise, soccer practice, school meetings, school supplies, and taking and picking up the kids from their busy social calendars, it is hard to stay on top of my game. I know the kids are happy the school year has started. They were going crazy and craving the routine that we all require. It makes me wish that I, too, could go back to school--an attractive option once you experience the alternative. I am hopeful that things will calm down. As we head into fall, I will miss things that have been familiar to me. I will miss The Trolley bar, which burned down just a few weeks ago. I will reflect back on this summer with joy and appreciation. It is the ending of one chapter of my life and the beginning of a new adventure. I don't know if I've been learning anything. But perhaps as things come up, I will approach with caution. Regardless, I know that I hate counting Best of Boise ballots.
