The Yule Invitational Group Art Show

Runs through Saturday, Dec. 29, at VAC

Christmas may get the most holiday PR, but it's far from alone on the calendar. Here are just a smattering of other celebrated dates, some more well-known than others: Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Saint Nicholas Day, Fiesta of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Saint Lucia Day and Yule. The latter, celebrated on the Winter Solstice, inspired Swell Artist Collective's last art show of the year, which opened Dec. 7 at the Visual Arts Collective. The Yule Invitational includes work from more than 30 local artists—Adam Rosenlund, Tyler Crabb, Aryssa Hutchins, Bobby Roulette and Kirsten Furlong among them. Their work will hang at the VAC through Saturday, Dec. 29, and art lovers who are 21 and older can stop by any Saturday in the meantime to view it. If you've got a case of Christmas curiosity, this is a show that can't be missed.
