Four days after revelers braved smoke from the Pioneer Fire and triple-digit temperatures to pack Ann Morrison Park for the annual Tour de Fat celebration Aug. 13, event host New Belgium Brewing has released this year's attendance and fundraising numbers.

Approximately 12,000 people turned out for the bikes-and-beer blowout, exceeding last year's total of 10,500 attendees.

Tour de Fat is a traveling festival that raises funds for local nonprofits. In all, it has raised more than $4 million across the country. This year, in Boise, proceeds from beer and merchandise came to $63,365 that will go to Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association, Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance and Boise Bicycle Project.
