Re: “Expert: Boise State Has a Big Problem in Underreporting Sex Crimes

Sadly that's not the way it works Timm! =\ and that's exactly what is wrong.

Example: You've been flirting with a girl for a few weeks now, you meet at a party, you both have had ONE beer, she says "lets have sex" and you have sex. The consent is 100% clear, she asked you, she's on top, she brought the condom.

Then the next day, her friends make fun of her, call her a slut, and she suddenly regrets sleeping with you. She can now press charges for rape because even though she was sober enough to drive, drinking a single beer removes her ability to give consent in the eyes of the law in Idaho.

Re: “Expert: Boise State Has a Big Problem in Underreporting Sex Crimes

When I attended my freshman year at the University of Idaho, I had to go through not one, but three presentations teaching me how to not rape women.

I've never had any desire to rape women, but apparently I can still easily do it. At the time rape included 18 year old me having sex with my 17 year old girlfriend, or having sex at a party with a girl who has had not 10 drinks, not a certain BAL, but any amount of alcohol. One beer. One glass of wine. Too much mouth wash. (this still applies after 30 years of marriage too)

I think if you really want to fix the problems associated with this "rape culture" you should first properly define what rape actually is. When the borders between "rape" and "not rape" are SO unclear, it promotes real rape.
