Acclaimed skatepark builders Dreamland Skateparks have released plans for a new skatepark to be constructed in Buhl, Idaho. The company, known for employing only world-class skateboarders in their construction and design crews, has begun a trend of targeting miniscule American towns and building world-class skate parks that belie their humble surroundings. For instance, Kuna, Driggs and Hailey have been the other Idaho towns dubbed Dreamlands—the last landing a 12,500-foot mecca that has since caused Ketchum to demand a new park of their own. The only request, according to Dreamland Building development head Kent Dahlgren, is that it be "better than Hailey." Construction on the Ketchum park is scheduled to begin next month.

The Buhl park will also feature one of the select few "cradles" in North America. The structure, a perfect half-sphere dome with a short overhang that has entire Web sites dedicated to its worshipping (, is only featured on three other of Dreamland's 18 existing structures: Port Orford, OR, Lincoln City, OR, and what is widely thought to be Europe's finest skatepark in Rattenberg, Austria. According to Dahlgren, the city of Buhl has specifically requested that theirs be the largest cradle in the world. Plans are available to view online at, and construction is set to begin in early summer.
