Re: “Juvenile Patients "Riot" at Intermountain Hospital

A few friends of mine work at intermountain, and they are not people who would "turn away" if there were a catfight. No, in fact, they do everything they can to help the patients and ensure their proper treatment. Yes, understaffing is a problem, as management is paying large bonuses for filling in shifts. But that doesn't mean that the people that ARE there are mistreating or ignoring the patient's needs by any means. The establishment itself may not be the best, but the people that are there do the best they can. Those white bedsheets you talk of for "patient mistreatment" were in fact peaceful protests by the patients directing their anger in a more constructive way, saying they wanted their favorite staff members back. The people there don't deserve a bad rep because of one-sided reporting. The kids on main went crazy... because some of them are criminals, organizing the unit into a gang with a leader bent on dominating everyone. The staff does what they can to help... but some of these kids need their parents to firmly put a foot down and get them the help they really need... juvenille jail. Oh yeah, and why did you throw in that bit about the officer who responded to the "riot" who "hurt" the kid being female? That has nothing to do with the article, you could have just said "an officer". Wollheim, I knew it before and I know it now. You are a sexist a**hole.
