For 16th century Parisians, it was a chicken in every pot. In 20th century America, it was a car in every garage. Today, every person has a brand. In the age of selfie sticks and Instagram, technology has enabled people to curate their own public identities in ways never before thought possible.

This First Thursday, Boiseans can harken back to an age of far greater photographic candor at Trailhead, where a selection of images from the Rescued Film Project will be on display from 5-9 p.m.

The exhibition, Lost & Forgotten, will include snapshots from the rise of popular photography in the 1930s to the early 2000s—intimate images never seen by their creators capturing people

For years, the Rescued Film Project, founded by Levi Bettweiser, has collected and processed thousands of undeveloped photos, ranging from the blurry, the candid and the bizarre to the historically significant, including a trove of photos he uncovered of President Dwight Eisenhower.
