Re: “No Robes, No Hoods

dlb- yes- on the world stage Obama is well loved. It is true despite the commentary on Fox news. America is the greatest country on earth and people all over the world watch our every move and they love him.

On race- no we are not better off now. But, when one political party is hell bent on demonizing, calling names, fabricating scandals where they don't exist... calling him a Kenyan, a communist, a Muslim... all of which are not true. Who do you blame the racism on?

I think the responsibility for the poisoned political landscape lands squarely on the GOP. The democrats have not done much better but at least you don't see them calling GOP members names, fabricating ridiculous things like the birth certificate issue... and inferring things that simply are not true.

Leadership- is Obama acting like a good leader? No- far from it. But he is better than the previous President. Would Romney have made a better leader? Probably- but we will never know.

Considering that the GOP will do anything to stop everything Obama wants to do makes it pretty hard to lead. Like I mentioned before- they hate him so much that they will go to great lengths to stop programs that they endorsed just 6 years ago. Healthcare reform, investment in infrastructure, immigration reform and raising the debt ceiling are perfect examples. They are willing to make the country suffer in order to make sure he fails. How is that good for America?

Thankfully- I am neither Republican or Democrat.. I gave up on both parties years ago.

Re: “No Robes, No Hoods

A bit over the top Bill. While I also believe that the GOP has deep hatred for anything Obama does (even if the ideas come from their own party- the health care mandate is a perfect example) I am not so sure it is entirely racial. Sure- in some areas of the country they want to drag him behind a truck like the good old days but in general I don't believe that to be the reason the party leaders hate him.

I think - that they hate him because average, working class, educated voters love him. The GOP represents big business and big money- the idea that they may have to share the wealth scares them beyond belief.
