War in Iraq Update 

U.S. CASUALTIES: As of Tuesday, January 3, 2,180 U.S. service members (including 12 Idahoans) have died since the war in Iraq began in March 2003: 1,712 in combat and 468 from non-combat related incidents and accidents. Injured service members total 15,155. In the last two weeks, 22 U.S. soldiers died.

Since President George W. Bush declared "mission accomplished" aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln on May 1, 2003, 2,036 soldiers have died. Since our first Iraq War update last year, 845 U.S. soldiers have died and 4,903 have been injured

IRAQI CIVILIAN DEATHS: Estimated between 27,707 and 31,232. Between 10,467 and 16,206 are estimated to have been killed in the last year.
