Re: “Have I Driven a Ford Lately?

I am a veteran and feel I was fleeced as well. I traded a vehicle in that was in great condition and bought a used car from them. Having just been through a divorce I couldn't afford the payments anymore. When I bought the vehicle I was told by the salesman that the vehicle had a warranty of 2 months or 3000 miles and he said it covered the vehicle from bumper to bumper. NOT TRUE as I was told by another manager later. Also, I identified a break noise and a humming/whistling sound and asked them to look at it. They showed me the information on the vehicle and it indicated that a new break job had just been done and told me that a 62 or 64 point inspection had been done on the vehicle and that it was in tip-top shape. A couple of days later I took in the vehicle to have them check the breaks again. They did , and then told me that they had put new pads on the front disk brakes( amazingly they never wrote up a ticket on it). A week later the noise was back. I took the vehicle in again and they had it for 2 days. This time they said that they had replaced the front pads and rotors and turned the rear drums and place new pads on them. Approximately three days later I could no loner stand the noise (whistling/humming) coming from the engine. I took the vehicle to the Dodge dealer and they identified a problem right away. I then took the vehicle back to Lithia and asked them to fix it. I told them what Dodge had said and they said they didn't know what would be covered in the warranty but they would let me know. It was a vaccum leak and it was repaired and at no cost to me. Let's see now, I have had the vehicle for a little over a month, been without it for almoth 6 entire days and given a rental car for one of those days. The vehicle's brakes still squeak and I am going to return it and ask they take it back under the Idaho Lemon Law. We wil see what happens. This is no way comparable to what happened to the elderly gentleman, except we both have been duped by Lithia of Boise.
