Wolf poisoned in Frank Church wilderness

A 2- to 3-year-old gray wolf was found poisioned with the insecticide Temek in a boundary area of the Frank Church Wilderness. This is the first known poisioning since several wolves, dogs and perhaps two moose were found poisoned during the winter and spring of 2004 in Wyoming and Idaho.

Gray wolves are protected under the Endangered Species Act and and killing one is punishable by up to a year in jail and a $100,000 fine.
