Womxn's March on Idaho

Saturday, Jan. 19, Idaho State Capitol

No, the "x" in "womxn's" isn't a typo. This year's demonstration at the Idaho State Capitol comes with some twists, and its new name—changed to make the event more inclusive of transgender and non-binary folks—is one of them. To mark the anniversary of the original Women's March, the rally will star Jennifer Palmieri, former White House communications director and best-selling author of Dear Madam President: An Open Letter to the Women Who Will Run the World. Palmieri will join student leaders, Idaho Sen. Cherie Buckner-Webb and Shoshone-Paiute Tribal Business Council Secretary Yvonne Powers to speak at the event. According to a People for Unity press release, the march is aimed at improving reproductive rights, worker rights, civil rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, immigrant rights and more.
